"Sphaera Mundi"
by Sacrobosco
Tretis de Lumen

This 13th century treatise on Astronomy was written by John of Hollywood, also known by the Latin name of "Sacrobosco." Sphaera Mundi (The Sphere) was one of the most important textbooks of that period and remained in print and in use for over 500 years. By adapting passages from The Almagest of Ptolemy, Sacrobosco offered an accessible description of the workings of the universe in this important treatise, including the acknowledgement of the Earth as a sphere.
